 Course Description: Geophysical Well Logging

This short course provides an introduction to the principles, techniques, and applications of geophysical well logging used in groundwater, mineral exploration, oil and gas, and geotechnical investigations. Participants will learn how different logging tools measure the physical properties of subsurface formations, including electrical resistivity, natural gamma radiation, density, neutron response, sonic velocity, and caliper measurements. The course covers log acquisition, quality control, interpretation, and integration with geological and hydrogeological data to characterize subsurface formations, identify aquifers, evaluate lithology, estimate porosity, and assess fluid content. Through practical examples and case studies, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to interpret well logs for effective subsurface investigation and resource evaluation.

This description can also be tailored for beginner, intermediate, or professional audiences, or expanded to include specific learning outcomes and course duration.
